Why am I Fundraising with Lance? Lance Armstrong has inspired me to join the Peloton Project of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It is not so much that Lance has beaten cancer and won the Tour de France, but that he has used his cancer experience to help others. He started the Lance Armstrong Foundation to improve the world for those facing cancer.
How do I do it? Already I have done more than I ever thought possible: I rode my bicycle 93 miles over 4 Sierra mountain passes in 1 day and raised close to $3000. A garage sale brought my total to $3,681.
How can a Cell Phone Help Conquer Cancer? My current focus, cell phone recycling, keeps phones and their toxic contents out of landfills. An added bonus is that a third party, Collective Good, refurbishes the phones and resells them in emerging economies with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Everyone wins!
What's My Dream? We have made big strides against cancer in my lifetime; with concerted effort, we can finish the job and make cancer no more scary than a trip to the dentist. And if we can do that, what else can we do?
